پیچوتاب عملیاتی، ابتکار سیاست پولی فدرال رزرو است که در گذشته برای کاهش نرخهای بلندمدت بهمنظور تحریک بیشتر اقتصاد ایالاتمتحده بهکار میرفت. این زمانی بود که ابزارهای پولی سنتی از طریق خرید و فروش زمانبندی شده اوراق خزانه ایالاتمتحده با سررسیدهای مختلف وجود نداشت.
این اصطلاح که نام خود را از خرید همزمان اوراق قرضه بلندمدت و فروش اوراق قرضه کوتاهمدت گرفته است، نشاندهنده "پیچیدن" منحنی بازده و ایجاد انحنایی کمتر در ساختار مدت نرخها است.
Operation Twist
Operation Twist is a Federal Reserve (Fed) monetary policy initiative used in the past to lower long-term interest rates to further stimulate the U.S. economy when traditional monetary tools were lacking via the timed purchase and sale of U.S. Treasuries of different maturities.
The term gets its name from the simultaneous buying of long-term bonds and selling short-term bonds, suggests a "twisting" of the yield curve and creating less curvature in the rates term structure
