The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is a federal agency that oversees the execution of laws relating to national banks. Specifically, it charters, regulates, and supervises national banks, federally chartered savings associations, and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks in the U.S. The Comptroller of the Currency, appointed by the President and approved by the Senate, heads the OCC.
