تثبیت قیمت بازار، رویهای عملی در سفارشگذاری فعال یا در حال انتظار ( برای تصمیم گیری) برای اوراق بهادار در بازاری است که قیمت در آن در حال کاهش است. این عمل بهمنظور تلاش برای پایدار نگهداشتن قیمت اوراق بهادار یا ایجاد کف (پایینترین حد قابل قبول) مصنوعی در اوراق بهادار است. در بیشتر موارد، این اقدام غیر قانونی است، مگر زمانیکه کارگزار یا طرف دیگر موظف به ثابت نگهداشتن قیمت اوراق بهادار باشد.
Holding the Market
"Holding the market" is the deliberate practice of placing active or pending orders for a security in a market where the price is dropping in an attempt to "hold" the price of the security steady or to create an artificial floor in the security. This practice is outlawed in most instances, except when a broker or other party is mandated to keep the price of a security steady.
