جمعیت در سن اشتغال، تمام جمعیت در یک منطقه است که قادر بهکارکردن و احتمال انجام کار در نظر گرفته میشوند. این جمعیت بر مبنای تعداد افراد در یک محدوده سنی از پیش تعیین شده است. این محدوده سنی میتواند متفاوت باشد اما بهطور عادی با نوجوانان بزرگتر شروع و تا سن بازنشستگی ادامه مییابد، مانند 18-64 یا 15- 64 سال.
