قرارداد اختیار، توافقی بین دو طرف برای تسهیل یک تراکنش بالقوه بر روی یک اوراق بهادار پایه با قیمتی از پیش تعیین شده از قبل یا در تاریخ انقضا است که به آن قیمت اعمال (قیمت توافقی) میگویند.
