اثر ژانویه، یک افزایش فصلی مشاهده شده در قیمت سهام در طول ماه ژانویه است. تحلیلگران، بهطور معمول، این افزایش را به افزایش خرید نسبت میدهند که در پی افت قیمت است که در ماه دسامبر اتفاق میافتد یعنی زمانی که سرمایهگذاران درگیر ایجاد زیان مالیاتی برای کاهش سود سرمایه محقق شده میباشند و موجب فروش یکجا، ناگزیر سهام میشود.

The January Effect is a perceived seasonal increase in stock prices during the month of January.
