اصل پارتو، مفهومی است که تصریح می‌کند 80 درصد پیامدها از 20 درصد علل ناشی می‌شوند و رابطه‌ی نابرابر بین ورودی‌ها و خروجی‌ها را بیان می‌کند. اصل پارتو که به نام اقتصاددان ویلفردو پارتو نامگذاری شده است به‌عنوان یک هشدار کلی برای این است که رابطه بین ورودی‌ها و خروجی‌ها متعادل نیست. اصل پارتو به‌عنوان قانون پارتو یا قانون 20/80 نیز شناخته می‌شود.
