David Ricardo (1772&ndash;1823) was a <a href="https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/classicaleconomics.asp">classical economist</a> best known for his theory on wages&nbsp; profit, the <a href="https://www.investopedia.com/terms/l/labor-theory-of-value.asp">labor theory of value</a>, the theory of comparative advantage, and the theory of rents.
